Fein Sander & Attachments

If you are looking for a tool that is great for tight corners and detail sanding, the Fein MultiMaster's sander variable-speed triangular pad does the job perfectly and oscillates between 12,000 rpm and 21,000 rpm. As a relatively quiet sanding tool, the oscillating action is so smooth that you can sand window muntins right up to the glass. Hook and loop attachments make it possible to quickly change pads that are available in abrasive grits from 36 to 400.

Besides painting and sanding, painters sometimes need to glaze windows. To do the job correctly it is necessary to remove all of the old glazing before applying the new. The smooth, flush-cut blad of the MultiMaster makes this usually difficult and sometimes frustrating job into a relatively easy and low-risk task. You can literally turn a one hour job into a ten minute project.

If you need to saw, rasp, scrape or polish, the MultiMaster attachments install quickly and securely with a hex key. Need to make head-on plunge cuts? No problem. With the smooth oscillation of the Fein sander repairs like removing portions of a damaged molding that is in place becomes a simple repair.

Customer Review:
"I became serious about boat building approximately 3 years ago. One thing that has been a point of frustration for me is epoxy. I have used some other glues like thinned polyurethane glue but I end up going back to epoxy. But I always have trouble removing the excess plastic "snot". It's no fun sanding it down and it uses up a lot of sanding discs. I have found that the MultiMaster makes this job much easier.

Usually if I really want something I just buy it but for some reason I had trouble rationalizing the purchase of the MultiMaster. It was a bit more expensive than most tools I have bought. Fein tools have an excellent reputation so I decided to take the plunge and ordered it on Amazon. Their pricing is the best and I am so glad I did buy the tool. It has been worth it's weight in gold.

The tool itself has an oscillating action. There is an on/off switch and and variable speed control that makes it so much easier to do precision clean up work. It came with assorted grit sandpaper, a rigid scraper blade and a flush wood saw. The scraper blade has been invaluable in helping me to remove gobs of epoxy along with the sanding disc. Both of these attachments function flawlessly even with my lack of coordination. With the scraper blade I am able to remove all but the thinnest epoxy film. I then am able to remove the rest of the epoxy film with the sander.

I still use my disc sander but mostly for finish work. I just ordered the smaller finger sanding pad for the more difficult spots and also a smaller scraper for the same reason. The spots that I use these tools on are the smaller ones. The result is a much more satisfying finished job. I still use my disc sander for the larger areas and overall I spend about the same amount of time but the outcome is much better looking.

This is a very impressive and powerful tool and for the price I paid ($199) I consider it money well spent. This is a tool that I will use for years. The attachments are very expensive but I am serious about my boat building and will continue to purchase more attachments as time goes on."
